King of Red Lions by Louise Roberts

August 30, 2008

It took Louise almost 2 weeks to build my King of Red Lions model, and it provided her with hours of entertainment she says.

She had to reinforce the mast with a chopstick because the sail ended up being too heavy, and she has a tip for anyone who wants to build King, namely to print the sail on regular light-weight paper instead of cardstock.

If you want to see some more pictures, check out Louise’s Melon Cheesecake blog!

Zelda models by Andrea Hulme

August 30, 2008

Andrea Hulme from Dayton, Ohio (USA) read about my site in the Nintendo Power Magazine and decided to build some of my models.

She did a great job on my King of Red Lions, but because the mast was beginning to bend under the weight of the sail, she used a fishing line (picture) to keep it from falling on Chokipeta’s WW Link!

To top it off, she also built my young Link and Majora’s Mask. It took her a while, but she had fun doing so!

Zelda models by alikakadri

August 28, 2008

This is alikakadri’s build of my Super Smash Bros. Melee Link. She painted it herself because she could only access the internet at the public library and print a few pages in black and white.

For the same reason, printing the 100+ pictures of my instructions wasn’t really an option, so she decided she would try it without them!

Because I recognized this is a very challenging model, I already added a lot of guides on the template, and it was a big help for her.

But still: you have to admire here perseverance and skill. It must have been very difficult but she did a great job!

Alikakadri built almost all my Zelda models:

Epona & Link

Midna on a Rubik’s Cube

Midna Riding wolf Link (nice job painting wolf Link’s “beard”!)

Fierce Deity Link (repainted from another papercraft model)

group shot

Update: of course alikakadri just *had* to build my Schnauzer as well, but somewhere she made a mistake and somehow it ended it up in a sitting position, looking up at the ceiling: picture.

She thought others might like to build a sitting Schnauzer as, so she tried to re-create what went wrong: picture 1 | picture 2picture 3

Tomb Raider Legend Lara Croft by TR-maniac

August 23, 2008

I think this is a very good build of my Tomb Raider Legend Lara Croft model! You can see some more pictures at TR-maniac’s DeviantART gallery.

At first (being a TR-maniac ;o) he just wanted to have his own Lara Croft statue, but he quickly became obsesed with papercraft and now it causes him some sleepness nights every now and then…

Sorry about that… ;o)

T-Rex trophy by Wildman

August 21, 2008

It’s a nice idea of course to make the T-Rex trophy lifesized; the template I provided will let you build it at about 10.5 cm (4 inches) long from neck to nose.

Wildman found out that the T-Rex “Sue” at the Field Museum in Chicago, has a skull of 5 feet (over 1.5 meters) long…

Update: Wildman sent me the files for a 400% version (678 kB PDF file). On 10 pages, he has included the parts for the small version on the blank spaces as well. You can see a picture of his own 400% build here.

One Piece “Going Merry” by Joanna James

August 17, 2008

Joanna James from Malaysia built this “Going Merry” for her boyfriend, who is a big fan of the One Piece anime.

It’s a very nice thing to do, because he doesn’t have time to do it himself – and he’s just not very good at building stuff (her words, not mine! ;o)

It’s the third paper model she made for him as a gift, and this one took her three days. I’m sure he appreciates any gift from his girlfriend, but maybe this one even more!

Link & Epona by Rose M.

August 14, 2008

Rose M. from Pueblo (Colorado) was looking for some Triforce earrings when she found my website and thought it might be fun to try one of my papercraft models.

She built my young princess Zelda model first, but wasn’t satisfied with the result. But I think she can be proud of this Link & Epona; even her cat thinks so!
