King of Red Lions by Andrew Lewis

23-06-2012: Andrew has been papercrafting for about 4 years, ever since he found my Majora’s Mask young Link papercraft model. ;o)

He built a few of other papercraft models of mine before, but the pictures he sent me are of his favourite one, the King of Red Lions!

It’s Andrew’s personal favourite, and I can totally understand that, because he put in a lot of extra work to make it look as great as it does. ;o)

He built it over a period of about two years, off and on in between other projects, and he used the papercraft Link and sea base that Josh Darrah made (it isn’t completely finished yet, but Andrew sent me the picture anyway: link ;o)

But Andrew went even further, making other small edits like the expression on Link’s face (picture) and he used markers to colour the white edges of the parts, so he wouldn’t get “white lines” on his model.

It was a lot of extra work, but it was definitely worth it: the King of Red Lions is now the proud centerpiece of his papercraft collection so far! ;o)

Thank you for building a Ninjatoes’ papercraft model!

Star Trek Deep Space Nine “Rubicon” runabout by Paul McCool

22-06-2012: What started as a digital repaint of my Star Trek Danube-class runabout, quickly became a big project with Paul not only repainting the parts, but also tweaking them to get the model exactly the way he wanted: picture

Some parts even took him several tries to get them *just* right (picture) and what’s more, he included markings for 14 (!) different versions! But there’s so much to tell about this repaint, you should really visit Paul’s Rosco Files weblog to read all about it: link

Parts and instructions to build your own repainted version are available here (together with my original hand drawn version) and on Paul’s own weblog here.

Have fun building! ;o)

17-11-2011: Paul McCool built my Star Trek Danube-class runabout “Rubicon” (picture) for a reason.

If you visited my papercraft Star Trek page, you might recognize his name: he repainted my Type-10 shuttlecraft “Chaffee” before, and now he is doing the same for my “Rubicon”!

As you can see, he built my original version first, and was surprised (shocked? ;o) to see how big it was (apparantly, it’s almost as big as the studio model! ;o)

And he’s not just repainting it, he’s doing a lot more than that! You can read up on it on his own weblog, The Rosco Files: link

It’s not quite done yet, but if while you wait you want to get an idea of what you can expect, have a look at the “Chaffee”: link

Stay tuned! ;o)

Thank you for building (and repainting ;o) a Ninjatoes’ papercraft model!

Young Link by thouartodd

18-06-2012: Many Zelda fans like my papercraft model of young Link from Majora’s Mask, and personally, I think it’s because its “blocky” appearance makes it look like he jumped right from the screen onto your desk! ;o)

This one was built by thouartodd, and he even scaled it down to half its original size before building it.

It made some small parts a bit more difficult, but he did a great job: as you can see, young Link is looking great from all angles:

Cylon Raider by That’s PS!

13-06-2012: Paul from That’s PS! Nerdcrafting and more loves to make well… all kinds of nerdy crafts. ;o)

When he wanted to make a Battlestar Galactica themed craft, he came across my papercraft Cylon Raider and decided to try out it.

Thinking all the parts were already made and he only had to cut them out and glue them together, it took him a lot longer than he expected…! (13 hours…” ;o)

In fact, his first try was “not a success” at all… But he didn’t give up, and the second time around he used the things he learned from his first attempt to avoid any more big problems.

And as you can see, all his hard work paid off! His papercraft Cylon Raider looks great and I’m sure it will get a nice place amongst all of Paul’s other nerdy things! ;o)

For more pictures and the the full story (and even a video review) on Paul’s Cylon Raider build, you can go to his That’s PS! Nerdcrafting and more weblog here: link

Zelda models by Floriaski

29-05-2012: After building her first papercraft model only a little while ago, Floriaski already built 2 new ones!

Or rather, you could say she built 3 new ones, because as you can see, one of them is Link riding Epona, which is actually two models in one I guess. ;o)

The other new model that Floriaski built, is Majora’s Mask itself: picture

It’s a small and relatively simple model, but a lot of people seem to like building it. Or maybe the voices they start hearing after they’ve stared into the mask’s eyes too long tell them they have to build it…?

If you can pull yourself away from the mesmerizing stare of Majora’s Mask long enough, you can find the bigger pictures and more artwork in Floriaski’s DeviantArt gallery: link

23-05-2012: Floriaski really likes the Zelda series, so one day, she decided to built my young Link papercraft model: picture

It’s the first papercraft model she ever made, so she used the version with fold lines to make it a little easier for herself.

I think she did a great job, and maybe she will build more paper models now? ;o) But only if she can find the time of course, because she also likes to draw a lot!

If you want to see Floriaski’s drawings, you should definately check out her DeviantArt gallery: link

Thank you for building these Ninjatoes’ papercraft models!
