UPDATE 2: More paper Zelda models from Aaron! This time it’s the King of Red Lions. And Aaron also built Josh Darrah’s Great Sea Base! (picture)

UPDATE 3: Aaron promised me he’d send some new pictures, and here they are! The first one is a rebuild of young Link that he did earlier. I guess he just wanted to make it *perfect* (and now he also repainted the sheeth to make it look like the blade of the sword! ;o)

UPDATE  4: The second one is Fierce Deity Link. You can see another Fierce Deity Link in super deformed style in the picture, it’s a repaint of ChokiPETA’s Four Swords Link and can be downloaded from here.

UPDATE 5: The final one in this batch is my newest model, Zora armor Link. I’m very glad to see that most people find it relatively easy to build, and the results like this one are usually great as well! ;o)

UPDATE 6: Two new models by Aaron Mears! The first one is princess Zelda, and the second one is wolf Link. Aaron has been working on them off and on all during summer break, and a month into school. So that’s how many Zelda models already? Well, you can see in this groupshot!

Update 7: Aaron’s thirst for Zelda models is far from satisfied yet, as he also built Hero outfit Link now! In the picture above, you can see it together with Zora armor Link, and here’s a picture of it alone.

Aaron sends me a few pictures of the young Link papercraft model he built. The small treasure chest he’s trying to open in this picture, can be found here (but it’s probably just another Small Key again, that you can only use in this dungeon… ;o)

Aaron also built the Clock Town Schnauzer model from my website. When Link is transformed into a Deku Scrub, it growls at you and attacks you, but after Link is transformed back to normal, the both of them get along just fine, as you can see in this picture.

The last picture shows that when Link is not playing with dogs, he likes to play King Arthur and pull swords out of stones. If you want to try yourself, you can download the template for the Master Sword and pedestal here.

UPDATE: I guess Aaron forgot to mention he also built my Epona & Link models! ;o) You can see them here, together with young Link and another Link from a different papercraft creator (which you can download here). If I remember correctly, it was made with Tenkai, the predecessor of Pepakura Designer.

With a brother like Aaron Mears, it’s not hard to imagine how Zach also got hooked on papercraft! ;o)

This time, he’s sending in his own build: no, that’s not some random dog that walked in front of the camera when Zach was trying to take a picture of the car; that’s Zach’s Clocktown Schnauzer!

Although the picture is a bit blurry, you can still see he did a pretty good job! And from the sounds of it, Zach is only just getting started… ;o)

Update: in a stroke of what I can only describe as madness, Zach attempted to build the evil Red Hollow Cylinder model… (picture)

I can only hope that The Cylinder will have some mercy on him now that it’s almost Christmas…

Wow, either Dan has done a really great job mowing the lawn, or Link has a bag full of Rupees, Potions and Hearts right now!

I hope Dan won’t leave him out in the rain though, because that would really be a shame of this wonderful build! ;o)

This Hero outfit Link is Dan’s second build from Twilight Princess, after Zora armor Link. He said he took extra care building that one and it really paid off, because it looks “really good!”

But of course, he had plenty of practice! Printed off and assembled in just two days, Dan’s other models don’t seem to be scared by his new Oogie Boogie (maybe they know it’s just a paper one…?)

Speaking of Dan’s other models, this Kurt Zisa really is a great build: it looks wonderful, but that’s not surprising because he had a lot of practice! ;o)

Take this Auron for instance: Dan says he had ”a lot of fun building it!” and he’s “really proud of the results!” and really, who wouldn’t be? ;o)

And here’s another one for Dan to be proud of: it’s Cloud Strife Kingdom Hearts style! It’s looking at least as good as Auron, maybe it has something to do with the motivation he got from watching his brother play Final Fantasy 7 while he built it? ;o)

A break fom building Final Fantasy models, Dan also built not on, not two, but several of my Zelda models! In the picture he sent me, you can recognize young Link, princess Zelda herself, Majora’s Mask and the Clock Town Schnauzer of course.

I know you’ve never seen the darker dog, because that’s Dan’s own recolor of the Clock Town Schnauzer to make it look like the common ones found at night at Hyrule Castle in Ocarina of Time!

And let’s not forget Homer Simpson as part of Dan’s paper model collection as well!

Only a few days after I finally finished it, Nathan “Truffles” Richards already sends me a picture of his completed Hero Clothes Link from Twilight Princess.

Nathan has been papercrafting for about a year now, but he says this is his best one yet - and I must say that it does look outstanding!

Thank you for building a Ninjatoes’ papercraft model!

I intentionally made Zora armor Link and Hero outfit Link the same scale, so people could “mix and match” the sword and shield.

And that’s exactly what Toni did!

But he didn’t stop there; he also cut a hole in the face of Zora armor Link and replaced part of the face with that of Hero outfit Link, so that the black mask isn’t covering his mouth anymore!

And if you look carefully, you can also see that Toni added a little extra detail by cutting out little triangles from the top and bottom of the armor, to make it look even more “scale-like” like it does in the game.

With the edge colouring and these extra details, I think Toni can be really proud of the way his paper model turned out!

Toni did have some practice though! ;o) Before  young Link that he finished some time ago, he already built Zora armor Link once before:

That first build took him about 15 hours and although he said there were some parts that confused him a bit, I would never had guessed if he hadn’t told me, because that build already looked great as well!

Though being pulled from his comfy virtual world into the real world may sound exciting for an adventurer like Link, but it does require some adjusting…

Here, Toni tried to explain Link that rupees are no good in the real world and that you need coins!

Link looked a bit baffled, and although I don’t know the current exchange rate between rupees and Euros, it’s enough to make ZaL’s head explode! (amongst other things…)
