King of Red Lions by Josh Darrah

24-04-2009: Josh finally finished preparing his scratch built sea base for release, and here it is: King of Red Lions sea base (2,20 MB ZIP file)

22-11-2007: My King of Red Lions is a challenging model to build but Josh Darrah not only did an excellent job, he took it even further!

He reinforced the mast with a chopstick and a rolled up cardstock sheet acts as a sleeve so he can take the mast off when he needs to, made his own ocean base for King to rest on, and he Photoshopped Chokipeta’s WW Link from the Japanese magazine Dengeki Cube a couple years back to how he wanted it: picture 2 | picture 3 | picture 4 | picture 5

He’s proud of the results, and I say: he should be. ;o)

Thank you for building a Ninjatoes’ papercraft model!

  1. Sadly, it seems like he really isn’t replying anymore. I tried to make some modifications myself but I’m not happy with the results. If you still happen to have the template, would you mind sending it to me?

This is one of the best papercrafts I’ve seen so far!

    • That’s too bad to hear… :o( Neither the original papercraft “Wind Waker Link” nor the edited version is mine of course, but I’ll see what I can do.

  2. Hi!, Do you have the link model papercraft? I sent an e-mail asking for it, but I still don’t recieve response about that :(.

I really want it, plis help me :'(.

    • The modified paper Link was made by Josh (from a template made by Chokipeta) and not by me; it was quite a while ago that Josh made it of course, but as far as I know, he still answers his e-mails about it from people who would like to build it. ;o)

Maybe he just hasn’t gotten around to answering your e-mail yet and he’ll send you the file soon, but if he doesn’t, then I’ll see if I can find it.

  3. Great paper, i wish the model of Link but i can´t see here, cand you share the link to download it?

    • The modified Link wasn’t made by me, but it was Photoshopped/edited by Josh Darrah (who also made the “King of Red Lions sea base” you see in the picture) from a template made by a Japanese papercrafter called Chokipeta, who made it as a bonus gift in a Japanese gaming magazine years ago.

So because it was originally never intended to be available as a download, I can’t put it on my papercraft webpage here, but instead, you can request the parts to build the modified Link from Josh Darrah himself.

Josh’s e-mail adress is on the templates for the sea base that you can download from the first link in this hall of fame post or from the King of Red Lions download post here: link

So all you have to do to get the file to build the modified Link is send Josh an e-mail and ask for it. ;o)

      Have fun!

    • The parts and instructions to build your own papercraft King of Red Lions can be downloaded here:

It also includes a download link for the sea base that Josh made; because the Link figure was originally a papercraft model made by Chokipeta for a Japanese gaming magazine, I can’t offer it as a direct download here, but Josh will send his edited version to you if you send him an e-mail (his e-mail adress is on the templates for his sea base stand).
